Event Description

Can art be money? Can money be a form of art?

By now, you may have heard about Seedstock, Vancouver's first community currency being launched this summer (www.seedstock.ca). Seedstock is money created by the community, for the community. It sticks around and goes 'round, and will serve to strengthen three pillars of a vibrant and sustainable local economy: food, arts, and health.

In order for Seedstock to be as community-generated as possible, last month we invited local artists and designers to come up with their own artistic conceptions of money - and this call has been answered! Now, we are excited to share their designs with all of you in a fantastic and unique evening where you will:

  • See and celebrate local art and artists
  • Savour delicious food
  • Move to delicious rhythms
  • Help choose the look of Seedstock, Vancouver's first community currency
  • Learn how you can change your world by changing your money
  • And much, much more!

You will not want to miss this milestone event for a community currency that promises to become a defining and catalytic ingredient in Vancouver's bubbling cauldron of social, environmental and economic innovation! Become part of the movement not only by helping shape the way Seedstock will look, but by changing the way you look at money. By changing your money in advance, you can help support the next step in this bold project: the printing and circulation of Seedstock!

Admission: $15 in advance, $20 at the door
