When diet is wrong medicine is of no use.
When diet is correct medicine is of no need.
~Ayurvedic Proverb

Let your herbs enrich your life! Those beautiful herbs that you have grown in the windowsill or picked up at the market are full of health benefits! The next step is to learn how to incorporate them into your kitchen pantry and medicine cabinet!

This introductory class to herbs uses common culinary herbs in both tasty recipes and home remedies like teas, bath preparations and poultices.

In the kitchen: The confident cook’s secret is to use a variety of herbs, to know which ones compliment which foods, to use the senses to know how much to add…

We’ll be making a versatile herb chutney and a herbed leek and potato soup.

In the medicine cabinet: From perking up to calming down as well as remedies for minor ailments such as rashes, sore throats and colds, this class will expand upon your love and appreciation of herbs.

We’ll be making an herbal bath preparation, you get to take home your own mixture of relaxing or refreshing herbs for the bath!

Get tips on harvesting, preserving and preparing food and medicine with your garden herbs.
