RESPONDING TO ABRUPT CLIMATE CHANGE

Award-winning Conservation Biologist Dr. Guy McPherson to Speak in Vancouver

Dr. Guy McPherson, Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources from University of Arizona, has made a detailed study of the scientific literature on climate change and has determined that feedback loops and tipping points in the climate system are vastly increasing the rate of change, but are not being addressed in our official response policy. He will speak on this urgent topic, and about his personal journey from scientist and teacher to author and counter-culture activist, at Heartwood Café, 317 East Broadway, Vancouver, B.C. at 7:00 p.m. on June 12, 2015.

“Guy McPherson’s work is a gift to the world. I wish all writers were as smart and as honest.” ~Derrick Jensen, author and activist

There is a groundswell of interest building in our communities, as the effects of abrupt climate change can no longer be ignored, and Dr. McPherson is in demand as a speaker who has the courage and skill to present the facts with clarity, courage, and warm-hearted humor. The lecture will consist of a detailed presentation by Dr. McPherson on his analysis of the current climate research, together with his views on the optimum response to the data. Following the lecture, there will be an hour for questions from the audience.
