Do all of you know about this rally (see below) ? I will be going with both my boys. I feel it is very important that we attend these sorts of things to show this govt we are paying attention and will not stand by complacently as they hurt our kids through massive education cuts. The whole premise- that there is just no money for education- is really offensive to me, esp in light of all the recent spending on the Games. It is clearly a matter of priorities, and the Provincial Govt simply must fully fund education.
I also think that protesting can indeed make a difference...after all, if it did not, we would not even have a Queen Elizabeth Annex school today; they tried to close it down two yrs ago but we managed to keep it open through a massive parent effort.
If you cannot attend the rally, consider writing a letter to Gordon Campbell, your MLA's and the trustees of the VSB...for that matter, attend the rally and write a letter, if you possibly can.
