Event Description

New coal mines and expanded coal exports, northern pipelines, oil tankers in Vancouver's harbour, airport and highway expansion, and callous and indifferent governments -- it seems like the list of potentiat threats to our climate just keeps getting longer. Now is the time for all concerned citizens to come to the aid of our planet.
Here is an upcoming opportunity to take part in a workshop offering training in peaceful direct action/non-violent civil disobedience. It is led by experienced direct action trainers. This workshop will provide you with an overview of the potential legal consequences of civil disobedience, as well as opportunity to role play through some simulated direct action scenarios. They are a great chance to meet other community members who share your concerns, get updates on the issues, and find out how you can take action.
VANCOUVER Sunday FEB 19, 2 to 6 pm.  Led by Jessie Schwarz, Greenpeace. 1090 W70th St (Quaker Meeting House) More info: stop.coal.bc@gmail.com
