Neighbour Savour II

It's on! VV's BIGGEST POTLUCK yet will take place at Heritage Hall a week before Thanksgiving, on Monday October 4.

We start the evening with family-friendly activities at 6 and then tap deeper into Storm Brewery's local best concoctions and into wild, danceable music as the evening progresses. We'll have fresh, local, live music, great conversation, local exhibits, and 300-400 of the most happening and sustainable people in Vancouver.

This will be a showcase of local foods, locally prepared, and shared. Take the opportunity to test out a new Thanksgiving recipe or learn from others. We will be demonstrating the "2 Block Diet" and urban agriculture (including eggs).

We will also tolerate no waste. All leftovers will be taken home or composted, and all dinnerware will be real; no paper, cardboard, plastic, styrofoam, or anything that cannot be washed and reused. We will not even have a trash can at the event.

If you can't bring anything, just show up anyway, eat well, and celebrate your community! There is no admissions cost, the food can't be beat, and the beer will be excellent and affordable.

Tablers will include Neighbour's Organic Weekly Food Buying Co-op (NOWBC), No Tanks!, False Creek Watershed Society, Salmon are Sacred, Canadian Society for Ecological Economics, Two Block Diet, Seed to Sky Gardening Club, Be the Change, Zero Waste Vancouver, and VV. There will also be information from local Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres, the 350.Org 10.10.10 Dig In action, and others.
