Event Description

It can be easy to forget about the wealth of food that grows all around us. In this Village Vancouver workshop and walk, you'll learn about edible plants that call our region home. Lori Snyder from the Metis Nation will discuss how to identify and harvest wild, edible, and medicinal plants in an ethical way. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

We'll have a seed library there - if you come a few minutes early, you can get some free seeds for your garden, or swap or donate seeds.

Advance registration advised: #57223 Strathcona Community Centre 604.713.1838 or Native Edibles or in person. Registration is "pay what you can" with a suggested fee of $15. If not paying the suggested fee, please register over the phone or in person. 50% Subsidies are also available to low income residents of Vancouver with a Leisure Access Card. For details on how to apply, please contact Strathcona CC or LAC ((http://vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/leisure-access-card.aspx).

Village Vancouver's healthy, local food residency at the Strathcona Park Field House offers a variety of affordable food and community based programming at the Field House, Strathcona Community Centre, and elsewhere.
