Event Description
Learn how to grow oyster and shiitake mushrooms in your garden with this interactive demonstration!
I will be providing materials including logs, mushroom spawn, and the tools needed for the demonstration.
During the demonstration we will be preparing mushroom logs that will remain at Cypress
Community Garden where they will produce mushrooms in the spring.
We will conclude the demonstration with mushroom soup, bread and hot chocolate.
As you take part in creating mushroom logs for Cypress Community Garden you will learn:
- The tools and materials needed to grow mushrooms from logs
- Which wood mushrooms grow from and ways to source logs for yourself
- The technique for effectively establishing a mushroom log
- Open discussion on other mushroom cultivation methods and other mushroom topics
