iPhoneography Workshop (iPhone and iPad)

This 2-part class will cover digital photography skills using smart devices such as your iPhone or Android tablet.

The first class will consist of instruction related to photography composition principles and techniques, hands-on practice using your device, and constructive instructor feedback to help you improve your photos. Students will be given a short homework assignment between classes and will be given a complimentary pass to the Garden or Bloedel Conservatory to complete the assignment on their own time. In our second class we will review the homework assignment with a private gallery showing and will learn from each other’s successes and challenges. Using the free app, Autodesk Pixlr, we will learn editing techniques to enhance and improve your images. Topics covered will include: editing for different publishing options (including blogs, printing, Instagram and more), colour correction, filters and more. Students must bring their own device (fully charged) and install the free app: Autodesk Pixlr (from pixir.com/mobile) prior to class.
