Come out for this one-day intensive on
how to get started with Top Bar Hive beekeeping. If you're looking for a relaxing way to enjoy honeybees without all the doodads or wingdings that conventional beekeeping calls for then TBH is for you! TBH beekeeping is the original way people kept bees. It's relaxing for beekeepers and for the bees! We will cover bee biology, the seasons of the bees and TBH management techniques.
There will be an opportunity to purchase a TBH to take home.

The Bee School
The philosophy of The Bee School is based on
sound principles of sustainable, scientific and
ethical apiary management. Our goal is to
train a new generation of small-scale urban
and commercial beekeepers prepared to face
the challenges and rewards of the 21st Century.
We live in an age of unprecedented global
change. Old modalities and paradigms need to
be updated. Just as the resilience of our
ecosystem has to be maintained and encouraged,
we as beekeepers and urban residents need to
grow into a more flexible and responsive way
of being; especially in light of honey and native
bee losses.
Classes and workshops at The Bee School
combine the very latest knowledge, skills and
techniques in native and honeybee landscape
design and management while keeping alive
the knowledge and traditions of the ancient art
of beekeeping.
Our intention is to engage the public in doing
more to protect and preserve bee populations
through courses and workshops that are as
affordable and accessible as possible.
All classes provide theory with ample
opportunities for hands on practice. Sessions
are relaxed emphasizing the enjoyment and
appreciation of bees while learning in an
inclusive environment.
