Event Description

A Day at the Library: Lots More than Books!

10:10-10:55am  Collaborative Gardening Opportunities with VV

11:00am-12:15pm How To Create a Village in a City

1:00-3:00pm Garden Perception: Gathering Knowledge by Observation & Introduction to Common Weeds

3:30-5:30pm Seed Saving - The Basics to Saving Your Own Seeds

We’ll explore some of the exciting activities taking place in our local neighbourhoods and elsewhere to build healthier, friendlier, and more sustainable communities. Then we’ll break into smaller, "neighbourhood villages" and collaboratively envision within each village what our ideal neighbourhood would look like. Bring your imagination! We'll have the Village Vancouver Kits branch VPL community seed library present - pick up some free seeds for your garden, swap or donate seeds. This workshop is part of the Westside Food Festival (July 5-August 9).
