This course will get you started in thinking about how to start a food garden, and taking the first important step of getting the beds ready for planting. A sound garden plan that takes all the key factors into consideration has a better chance of producing and winning your enthusiasm.

Grant Watson is a former organic farmer, community organizer and local food advocate; he operates Grant’s Gourmet Gardens, an edible landscaping business www.gourmetgardens.ca.

To register: Strathcona CC 604.713.1838: Course: 45525.101
Fee: $35.00. Subsidies are available to low income residents of Vancouver with a Leisure Access Card. For details on how to apply, please contact Strathcona CC or visit http://vancouver.ca/parks/rec/lac/index.htm (You can see a list of benefits there, including free admission to all Park Board public swimming and ice skating sessions, and use of skates during public skating sessions.)
