-explore and share thoughts, feelings and plans regarding possible impacts on us of ecological collapse;
-help find meaning and clarity in this uncertain world and, together, help build our resilience.
Facilitator: Fred Bass is a community medicine physician whose past work focused on tobacco addiction and who served on Vancouver city council from 1999 to 2005.
Pre-registration is necessary to limit the number to 12 participants to provide everyone a full chance to speak.
TO ENQUIRE OR REGISTER:
email ecoresiliencecanada@gmail.com
call/text (604) 657-1481
Again, pre-registration is required, so please invite friends to register but not show up at last minute. Thanks.
a word of caution: Persons who are vulnerable to depression or other mental health issues, or who have had a recent major personal loss, should delay participation until they are encouraged to do so from a counsellor, health professional or supportive friend.
Further info: Six Eco-resilience workshops have been held in 2019, from January to September. Despite the seriousness of this subject, each of the six groups felt positive and energized at the close of the workshop.
Follow-up will take the form of "Eco-resilience Gatherings" to begin in November providing those interested an opportunity to socialize, to share announcements and to join a discussion led by people with key experience in building community-level, Transition-Town/ Village-Vancouver style resilience.
We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Xwméthkwyiem (Musqueam), Skwxwúmesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
