After a summer recess, the Ecological/New Economics circle will be beginning its monthly discussion circles once again this fall, with the next one on October 25th from 7pm until about 10pm (location to be announced soon).
The format of our discussion circle involves one member leading a discussion around a topic related to Ecological or New Economics that interests them and/or that they are knowledgeable about. In this way we teach each other, and very stimulating and edifying conversation has always ensued. We hope that anyone with an interest in alternatives to our current unsustainable and unstable economic system will join us.
For our next discussion circle, Jordan Bober will be leading a discussion on Open Money and community currencies, and will be joined by special guest Michael Linton, a thirty-year veteran in the field who invented the Open Money concept, founded the LETS mutual credit model which has now been copied thousands of time around the world, and has implemented several community currencies, including the Comox Valley Community Way currency.

We'd love to have you join us, the only difficulty being that if you come later someone would have to come down and let you into the building, which is locked after hours. Not that we couldn't do this - you could give me or Kathryn a call.
