In this course, we will look at the fundamentals of composting and what factors to watch for when designing and maintaining your system. What are the pros and cons of vermicompost? Do those black plastic cylinders work? How long should it take? We'll address these and other issues.
Grant Watson operates Grant's Gourmet Gardens (www.gourmetgardens.ca), an edible landscaping business in Greater Vancouver, and has been involved in local organic agriculture since 1994. He serves on the certification committeeof the Biodynamic Agriculture Society of BC, is chair of the Oak Street Farmers' Market Committee and is a shareholder and Glen Valley Organic farm Co-op. He has been teaching food gardening to children and adults since 2003.
