Breaking news! GoGo Bonkers, a kids band who sing about environmental issues, will be at our Bees Please Parade. They’ll serenade us while we eat our lunch before heading out for our Bee Parade. Here is a link to their music on CBC:

I’ve started an event on vancouverunitarians.ning.com and will be publicizing in other places too.
Schedule
12:30-1:30 – arriving at Mary Bennetts place (5th & Trafalgar); eating potluck sandwiches and juice (i.e. simple lunch)
1:30-2pm – finish off bee houses and signs and then
2pm – walk to 6th & Trafalgar circle garden– install signs and houses and then
2:30 – walk to 6th & Yew and check out Bees Please I – and the bees – there should be some by then. A nod to the Kids Neighbourhood Small Grant Program – Chloe was able to enhance her garden with signage thanks to a grant.
3:00 – go to community garden at 5th and Cypress and hopefully meet with the folks who made a bee gate and bee hive through another Kitsilano neighbourhood small grant.
3:30 – return back to "Trafifth"
Have some cookies and more drinks in a leisurely manner.
4pm – saying farewell to the bees and each other.
THANK YOU TO KITSILANO NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSE AND VANCOUVER FOUNDATION FOR A NEIGHBOURHOOD SMALL GRANT – which provides funds for musicians honorarium, bee plants and signs and some refreshments.
PS – This is the 3rd Sunday of the month April 15, so I’ll also be hosting a Kits Village vegan soup dinner at 5:30pm and going to Cric! Crac! Storytelling for 7pm at 2nd and Larch.
